Team member Cindy Werner had just arrived in PNG to meet with RVO, and help them and a group from the USGS install a new permanent SO2 DOAS instrument, when a large eruption at one of our target volcanoes - Ulawun - began erupting. Many Papua New Guinea locals have been evacuated, as the eruption column has reached an altitude of at least 19 km.
